Hey guys! I hope everybody had a great day yesterday, I got rained out of The Optimist and Candler Park, but it was still a good morning/afternoon before that!

Thank you so much to everybody who donated yesterday, I was absolutely blown away by your generosity, you’re helping keep the website alive! I’ll get those thank-you cards in the mail soon!

This is one of the cool looking cars from The High Museum's latest exhibit Dream Cars. which features fantastic concept cars from the past on display. Bank of America customers and Fulton county residents get into the museum for free next weekend., and if you’ve got a kid check out the details on Family Day today, details below!

Art things!

The dooGallery (205 Holtzclas St) has Instruments of Enchantment tonight at 6pm, Reynldstown’s monthly art walk.  It starts at the DooGallery and goes to Park Grounds, H Harper Station, and ends at the WonderRoot. Free!

It’s Family Day at the High Museum (1280 Peachtree) , bring your kid to make a car out of cardboard at 12, and then at 2pm they’re showing Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Food things!

Parish Foods & Goods (240 N. Highland Ave NE) has $1 oysters and $2 pints starting at 5:30!

D.B.A. Barbecue (1190 N. Highland Ave. NE)is celebrating their 5th anniversary birthday bash today at 7pm, the Breeze Kings will be performing, and they’re making a low-country shrimp boil!

The Atlanta Food and Wine Festival continues today in Midtown at 11th and Peachtree, tickets start at $55 and get all the way up to way too much money, but if you’ve got it to spare there are loads of great chefs and restaurants cooking up food for you to enjoy. Check the website for full details, it ends at 9pm tonight.

Parker’s on Ponce (116 East Ponce) has a Makan Restaurant Pop-Up Preview tonight from 6-10:30, featuring Korean pork ramyun noodle soup, Taiwaneese beef noodle soup, and other stuff in that vein. It looks like they’re sadly fully booked at the moment, but you can register here for a seat next Sunday, or the one after.

Elliott Street Deli and Pub (51 Eliott Street) has Sunday Brunch from 11-3pm, featuring all the traditional brunch staples.

Outdoorsy things!

Grant Park (840 Cherokee) has Hippies In The Park from 3-8pm, bring your blankets, booze, hoops, guitars, and everything you want for a fun day in the park. 

Inman Park has a warm weather park walk and reading, at 4pm. Walk through the park to a forest area, listen to Inman Park Squirrel Census creator Jamie Allen read from his piece about squirrels in the Summer Issue of Oxford American, and then watch/hear an interstitial story with bass accompaniment told through homemade action figures created by children and titled, “Squirrelzilla Takes Atlanta,”

W Atlanta Midtown (188 14th St) is opening up their wet deck from 12-8, hang out at the pool, have some food and cocktails, and enjoy some downtempo for Silent Sunday. I don’t know what a wet deck is.

Kirkwood ReCycle has their 3rd Annual Wing Ride today, meet at the shop and ride to five different places to see who has the best wings, including Bone Lick, Highlander, North Highland Pub, Manuel’s, and Flatiron. Check the facebook ride for details, the ride is a challenging 17 miles long

Diesel Filling Station is showing the USA v. Turkey international soccer match at 1:30pm

The Laughing Skull Lounge (878 Peachtree St) has Eddie Ifft performing tonight at 7pm. Tickets are ~$20. I didn’t know this guy but I think he’s pretty funny, give his clip a listen!

The Buckhead Theatre (3110 Roswell Rd ) premiers Hope for Steve at 3pm, a full red-carpet deal with a “Sunday best” dress code and live music beforehand. Tickets are $25.

the Sound Table. has Everybody Loves the Sunshine: An Ice Cream Social at 3pm today, a fundraiser for MS, featuring ‘music that everybody can dance to’ as well as $2 ice cream, ice cream sandwiches, and cup cakes. Cash only.

Bonaventure Quartet at The Earl as part of their hangover-friendly Dunch series. Starts around 1pm, no cover.

Floor at The Earl, 9pm, $12 cover. Literally the exact opposite of the Bonaventure Quartet. RIYL: Sonic Youth, HEALTH, Torche

Toby Lightman is at Park Tavern for Unplugged in the Park, if you missed her at Eddie’s Attic this is a great chance to see her again for free! Starts at 6pm, goes until 11pm, and 1/2 price sushi after 10pm! RIYL: KT Tunstall, Erin McCarley, Colbie Caillat, cheap good sushi.

Edwin McCain at Eddie’s Attic tonight, one show at 5 and another at 8, $34 at the door. You know this guy, he sings I’ll Be.

The Icarus Account at The Vinyl at 8pm, $10 cover. RIYL: Cute is what we Aim For

Church of Metal  at The Quad tonight, its not their usual scene but I think they’re trying to make it a recurring event, three metal bands are playing from 2pm-7pm, $8 cover, 21+.

Please help #SaveWRAS! The takeover has been delayed until the 29th of June, but that’s no reason to get complacent! Also, did you hear it’s not just WRAS, GSU is destroying Cinefest too :( :( :(

Thanks to everybody who’s taken the survey so far, I’m going to close it tonight and make some pretty graphs with the results for people to look at.

If it’s nice I’d like to go to Inman Park and do the walk/read, I’m thinking about going to Carnivores at Grace tonight too. Definitely recommend The Sound Table if you’re out on Edgewood too.
